The success of this event will depend entirly on the input of the membership. Nothing is written in stone to date. All details should be finalized by the end Jan. 2009.
Background
The idea of the four person teams came as a result of fallout during the BCWC or 6 man qualification process. It became evident that it would be difficult to maintain teams of six over an extended period. A reduction to four seamed more manageable and would allow each club to enter more than one team therefore providing for better representation and participation.
The three lake rotation came as a result of input by the presidents. The idea was that over several years members would become familiar with the body of water, places to stay, and places to eat reducing home lake advantage to some degree. Late September is off season for lakeside lodging and more selection along with cheaper rates would be available.
The financial impact statement of 150 to 200 entries and visitors would be substantial and very compeling for cities and towns, particularly during these economic times. We would expect additional sponsorship as a result
The payouts are designed to reward 3 teams of four with the winner taking the bulk of the purse. This payout structure would be the equivilent of paying out the top 12 postions.
Each club must have a registered charity of their choice. Up to 20% of the total purse will be donated to that charity. Hopefully charity donations will also attract sponsorship helping to make this event even more successful.
This event has the potential to be great and something that OBFN members can look forward to for years to come. Help make it a success buy providing input in detail and above all participation.

The elimination of the Bass Club World Championship left a hole in the calendar but an opportunity for something better and long overdue, an all Canadian BASS Club Championship. This great new event promises to crown the year and give bragging rights to one of Ontario's Federation Nation clubs.
